BT’s Work Ready programme is designed specifically to prepare you
for the world of work, build confidence and help build core work skills
including CV writing, presentation skills and interview techniques.
And it works - since January 2016, 59% of those who have completed our
courses have gone on to secure a job, or enrol in education or further training.

WHAT IS A BT TRAINEESHIP?

WHAT IS A BT SKILLS FOR WORK BOOT CAMP DAY?

Enrol in a Skills For Work Boot Camp day, for your chance to be selected
for a seven week BT Traineeship.

A one-day workshop at BT delivered by a professional trainer to equip you with essential
work skills and build confidence. Supported by BT volunteers, who are there to coach and
share their experiences.

Attendees of the Skills for Work Boot Camp have the chance to be selected for the Traineeship.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

• 16-24 year olds not in education, employment or training.
• Young people keen to get an insight into business.
• Those willing to learn and keen to get into employment or training.
• People who can commit to five days a week for seven weeks 10am-4pm
(we pay travel costs and £3 each day for lunch).

WHO’S IT FOR?

• Build your confidence.
• Learn how to nail an interview, create a great CV and communicate better.
• We provide valuable work experience, and can even help you with your Maths and English.
• Gain a Level 1 BTEC qualification.
• Three months of follow on support.

WHAT CAN I GET OUT OF IT?

The BT Traineeship programme is designed to support young people like yourself into
employment, whether that’s with BT or another company. The seven week programme
is a mix of classroom work on employability skills and hands on work experience with a job
interview at the end where possible.

WHAT CAN I GET OUT OF IT?
• Discover your potential career paths, relating to skills, interests, values and abilities.
• Set your career goals and develop an action plan to reach them.
• Improve your interview techniques and CV writing.
• Get first-hand experience of an apprenticeship assessment task.
• Tour a BT building and its different departments.
• Get your questions answered by BT employees from across the whole business.
• Get your digital skills up to speed when applying for jobs.

WHO’S IT FOR?
• 16-24 year olds not in education, employment or training.
• Young people keen to get an insight into business.
• Those with a willingness to proactively consider and pursue career options.
• Those in their final years at school with no job, training or further education planned.
