The scope of ASTM A633 / ASME SA633
1.1 This standard applies to normalized high-strength low-alloy structural steel plates
for welding, riveting or bolted structures.
1.2 The steel plate is particularly suitable for use in low temperature environments
of≥-50°F [-45°C],because of the requirement for steel notch toughness of the plate is
superior to rolled steel plate with similar strength levels.
Uses: Widely used in petroleum, chemical, power stations, boilers and other industries,
for the production of reactors, heat exchangers, separators, spherical tanks, oil and gas
tanks, liquefied gas tanks, nuclear reactor pressure shell, boiler drums, liquefied
petroleum gas bottles, water turbine scrolls and other equipment and components.
