Greg is flatpicking this song on a 12 string acoustic guitar playing 5-string arpeggios
For fingerpickers, I suggest the following picking pattern:
x - x - a - b - c - b - a - x
If another pattern suits you better, you're welcome

CHORUS
I haven't made up my mind yet how to play the Chorus chord sequence
Greg Lake is hybrid picking the Ebmaj7 chord and strumming the two ( Dm and Am7/D ) chords on the upper frets
That makes sense on a 12-string acousic guitar, but is no good option on a concert model
Take a look at the video and decide for yourself, how to deal with them

You might as well experiment with an extended chord sequence

Shutup & Play - guitar tutorials favours a Cm7(b13) chord here ( x3b2a03c3d )
A Csus2 chord on the 3rd fret as in C'est la vie actually sounds best ( x3a5c5d3a3a )
