week 2
Copyright All rights reserved by BLGARCIA 2011
This book is a documentation of the first week of Americans taking back
their country from those who know only greed and power. Those people
are headquartered on Wall St. in New York City and have destroyed people
who work for a living. The importance of this work is not only to record the
history of the American people but also to circumvent a media blackout
Virtually no news outlet is covering the event in the U.S. In fact, there is
more coverage in Europe than in America. This is not by accident.
This book has no affiliation with any of the people who organized the occupation.
It was created by what has been posted on the interwebs. I am simply one American
who has had enough and is doing everything and everything I can to make the
people who depend on Wall street fail. Share this with any and everyone. Post
it, email it print it. SPREAD THE MESSAGE: we the people of the United States
of America have had enough of the greed, the money and the power to the 1%.
The corporation is the problem.
The 99% are the solution.
People united will never be defeated

The Mission
“On the 17th of September, we want to see 20,000 people to flood into lower Manhattan, set up beds,
kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months.
Like our brothers and sisters in Egypt, Greece, Spain, and Iceland, we plan to use the revolutionary
Arab Spring tactic of mass occupation to restore democracy in America. We also encourage the use of
nonviolence to achieve our ends and maximize the safety of all participants.
Who is Occupy Wall Street?
Occupy Wall Street is leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political
persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the
greed and corruption of the 1%.
The original call for this occupation was published by Adbusters in July; since then, many individuals across
the country have stepped up to organize this event, such as the people of the NYC General Assembly and US
Day of Rage. There’ll also be similar occupations in the near future such as October2011 in Freedom Plaza,
Washington D.C.”

A Message From Occupied Wall Street (Day Seven)
Published 2011-09-24 04:02:49 UTC by OccupyWallSt
This is the seventh communiqué from the 99 percent. We
are occupying Wall Street.
On September 23rd, 2011, it rained. We organized what
shelter the police would allow us and thought. We thought
about everything that is wrong with this country, with
this world. We talked. We talked about everything that is
wrong in this world. There has been no real conversation in
this country and this world about wealth and the way it is
misused. We are that conversation. Join us and make your
voice heard. What is your one demand?
Our voice will no longer be ignored. There are too many
things wrong with this world for our voices to be silenced.
You know this. We know this. This is why we are here, why
we grow every day.
Occupy your homes. You own your home, a callous bank
that split ownership of your home into hundreds of parts,
redistributing them across the world under false ratings
does not own your home. Fifty times as much speculative
trading as commercial trading goes on each day in America.
You are in debt to people who make money by moving
money from place to place using computers.
You have a right to shelter. No one can take that right from you.
Banks are able to restructure settlements constantly, they receive billions and billions of dollars so that they can
stay afloat for long enough to steal your property from you. Do not let them. Do not leave your house. If the
police come to steal your house and deliver it to the 1 percent film them and show the world and then join us.
If we are not already occupying your city, your town, bring a sleeping bag, a pillow, and contact us. We will help
you find food. We will help you sue for shelter. We will find each other. We will grow. We will build - city by city,
block by block.
We stand in solidarity with homeowners across the country and the world whose homes are in the process of
being stolen by faceless conglomerations motivated only by profit. We are the 99 percent. We will not let you
steal our homes. We will not let you deprive us of a basic right, shelter, so that you can buy a home you do not
use. We are here. We are growing. And we will not be moved.
We stand in solidarity with Madrid, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Madison, Toronto, London, Athens, Sydney,
Stuttgart, Tokyo, Milan, Amsterdam, Algiers, Tel Aviv, Portland, Chicago and Palestine. Soon we will stand
with Phoenix, Montreal, Cleveland, Atlanta, Kansas City, Dallas, Orlando and Miami. We're still here. We are
growing. We intend to stay until we see movements toward real change in our country and the world.
#OccupyWallStreet PRINCIPLES OF SOLIDARITY
What follows is a living document that will be revised through democratic process of General Assembly
On September 17, 2011, people from all across the United States of America and the world came to protest the
blatant injustices of our times perpetuated by the economic and political elites. On the 17th we as individuals
rose up against political disenfranchisement and social and economic injustice. We spoke out, resisted, and
successfully occupied Wall Street. Today, we proudly remain in Liberty Square constituting ourselves as
autonomous political beings engaged in non-violent civil disobedience and building solidarity based on mutual
respect, acceptance, and love. It is from these reclaimed grounds that we say to all Americans and to the world,
Enough! How many crises does it take? We are the 99% and we have moved to reclaim our mortgaged future.
Through a direct democratic process, we have come together as individuals and crafted these principles of
solidarity, which are points of unity that include but are not limited to:
Engaging in direct and transparent participatory democracy;
Exercising personal and collective responsibility;
Recognizing individuals’ inherent privilege and the influence it has on all interactions;
Empowering one another against all forms of oppression;
Redefining how labor is valued;
The sanctity of individual privacy;
The belief that education is human right; and
Endeavoring to practice and support wide application of open source.
We are daring to imagine a new socio-political and economic alternative that offers greater possibility of equality.
We are consolidating the other proposed principles of solidarity, after which demands will follow.

A Message from Occupied Wall Street (Day Nine)
Published 2011-09-26 08:03:45 UTC by OccupyWallSt
This is the ninth communiqué from the 99 percent. We are occupying Wall Street. The police barricades that
have been surrounding the Stock Exchange help.
Sunday has been decreed, once again, a day of rest. We didn't march. We have made a new world, a new city
within the city. We are working on a new sky for where the towers are now.
Throughout the day our sisters and brothers arrested yesterday came back home to Liberty Plaza. They greeted
the new faces that have joined us here. They shared their stories of imprisonment, of medical care denied and
delayed. We welcomed them and listened.
We had visitors.
Immortal Technique
Reverend Billy
Yesterday was a day of action, and today was one of healing, discussion, and preparation. Working groups met
in small circles around the plaza, planning their work and preparing to report back to the General Assembly as
a whole. The Assembly debated, as always, the hows and whys of being here. In the morning, we talked about
the occupations rising up in cities around the United States, joining us in what we're doing, as people begin
rediscovering the power in themselves against the powers looming over them in buildings. We talked of calling
more people to do what we're doing. In the evening we talked about staying, or leaving, and what this space
means for us. We love it, we're almost addicted to it, but what we are is more than this.
We strolled around the plaza. We wrote songs with new friends. We argued about politics with each other,
but not a politics of puppets: a politics for us. We fed the hungry and gave sleeping bags to the cold. We
roughhoused. We talked to the world on our livestream. Most of all, we kept on organizing ourselves. Our
library grew.
Drums blared for hours into the night when the Assembly wasn't in session, until the time came for quiet. The
drummers ended by reciting from the Principles of Solidarity we approved in Friday's General Assembly, in
the rain. Before the police lined along the Broadway side of the plaza, they cried together, "We are daring to
imagine a new socio-political and economic alternative that offers greater possibility of equality." And more.
"Safety in numbers!" a sign by them says. "Join us."

On September 27th, 2011, we marched on the Financial District's Luxury Night Out, where couples wore outfits

year, afterward, they went back to one of their many houses that cost more than we will make in our lifetime.

Day 1 Summary
Posted on September 24, 2011 by occupychiadmin
Day 1 was a roaring success, and we have the passion and desire to continue to make
this a successful endeavor. Our launching ground was the Sears Tower (Willis) where we
marched to the Federal Reserve to occupy Chicago. We had some PR success as well.
Check out the Chicagoist for an interview of why we are standing strong with our brothers
and sisters in New York. Other highlights include our march to the ABC 7 news studio,
where we had some great luck with ESPN who mentioned us on air and sent out some
tweets about our protest. After a Long night occupying the Federal Reserve, we are ready
for day 2. Come on out and stand strong against corruption in all its forms.
This is a global revolution of political consciousness and Occupy movements are emerging
in cities throughout the world. Its ultimate success is dependent upon the people, and that
means YOU! Come join us and offer our occupation material and moral support in any
way you can. Solidarity is the power of the people. We stand with our brothers and sisters
in New York, Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria, Libya, Wisconsin, California, and all
across the globe. The people united cannot be defeated.
Day 2 Summary
Posted on September 25, 2011 by occupychiadmin
bullhorn picDay 2 of our occupation was another great success. The enthusiasm is
increasing and our numbers have grown. We marched again, this time down Michigan
Avenue and through Millennium Park, and the number of overnighters camping out tonight
in front of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago have more than doubled!
We’re preparing for another day of solidarity tomorrow, and we plan to continue to occupy
Chicago in unity with our brothers and sisters across the nation and around the world until
our grievances are addressed and our democracy is revitalized.
Please join us tomorrow or as soon as you can, and of course we are always in need
of material and moral support as we do all that we can to support working America.
Donations and publicity are very important. If you cannot join our direct action, please do
not hesitate to contribute in whatever way you can. Together we can make a difference!
One of the most important things for this movement is to generate public awareness. We
encourage you to write to your representatives and to express your solidarity with the
brothers and sisters standing strong for America against corruption and anti-democratic
policies.
Tomorrow we will continue to make our presence felt at the Federal Reserve Bank of
Chicago, and we encourage you to join us in our General Assembly meetings at 3:00 PM
and/or at 7:00 PM. We also are seeking more overnighters to truly make our commitment
and our intentions felt.
Day 3 Summary
Posted on September 26, 2011 by occupychiadmin
Day 3 of our occupation was another success. Breaking up into small groups we engaged people and challenged
their preconceptions of the movement as well as think critically about a system that is set up to keep them down
and keep them sleeping. We had people of all walks of life come by to chat with us. Of memorable note was a
Chinese national who is studying economics here in Chicago. After hearing about us through twitter, he came
down to find out what we are all about. When asked why he stopped by, he responded “I came here to find out
if what I was learning in economics is right.” Our message is spreading across the world and our numbers are
growing.
Tonights General Assembly had to do with logistics. Our numbers are gaining at such a rate that we took time
to come to an agreement about how to handle our community kitchen, dealing with police, and effective ways to
spread the message. Other topics included ramping up the Social media exposure and effectively conveying the
message of hope and equality to the masses.
As always we want to invite you to become a part of this movement to change the system. Donations of any kind
will be much appreciated. Your voice is the most important thing you can donate so come out, have some fun,
and let it be known that the days of corporate corruption and bought and paid for politicians are over.
If you would like to donate food or material goods then please stop by the Federal Reserve in Chicago. Of
particular concern with the rainy weather is tarps, ponchos, and tupperware to keep food dry. To donate money
