Presentation on CBO Work and Opportunities for Students
5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Wieboldt Hall, Room 511
Subject matter of work varies by CBO division and unit.
o Complete CBO’s annual projections of federal spending and revenues
under current law and alternative budget proposals, including cost
estimates of legislation.
o Have a master’s degree in public policy/administration, economics,
public health, or finance.
o Provide support to the division on a wide variety of topics by
maintaining models and assisting in data manipulation and analysis for
o Have an undergraduate degree in economics, public policy, or related
o Typically full-time graduate students who work on various CBO
projects for a 10-week, volunteer appointment during the summer.
o Application period is mid-December through February 29, 2012.
All positions require superior technical skills as well as strong oral and
written communication skills, especially the ability to communicate technical
matters clearly and concisely. Successful candidates must be able to work
independently and complete projects in a timely manner. Non U.S. citizens
who are permanent residents of the U.S. seeking citizenship are eligible.
