MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Marie Hanza, Executive Director mhanza@lubbockhabitat.org (806) 763-4663 lubbockhabitat.org Rock Paper Scissor Tournament to Benefit Lubbock Habitat Event sponsored by Big Al Mack from 106.1 KISS FM [LUBBOCK, Texas] (April 8, 2014) – Local residents are invited to form teams and compete in Big Al's 2nd Annual Rock Paper Scissors tournament on Saturday, April 19 at 12:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the South Plains Mall. Registration costs $100 per team, with 20 percent of proceeds going towards Lubbock Habitat and 80 percent going towards Dallas Habitat. Big Al is taking this event from Dallas to five cities across the state. The winning teams from each city will be invited to Dallas to compete at the finals for a chance to win $500. Teams can include anywhere from 2 to 20 people and can register online here. Registration costs $100 per team with all proceeds going towards Habitat for Humanity. In addition to the tournament, the event will feature live music, karaoke, a food truck, drinks, t-shirts, a photo booth and much more. Local bands are invited to take part in the event and can contact thematinfo@gmail.com to schedule a performance. One band will be selected to perform at the finals in Dallas and will receive $500. This event leads into Lubbock Habitat's next Homeowner Workshop on April 26, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center. Proceeds from the tournament will help support the organization in the development of a new subdivision of homes at North Guava Avenue.
