1st YEAR COMPUTER PROGRAMMING MENTORING Date: 1-2-2016 Volunteers: Duration: 50 Mins Venue: CS – 1 (I - A) Spoorthi Raju (2-A), Brijit Joshua (2-A) Objectives: This event is volunteered by ACM Student Chapter members of 2nd Year B.Tech CSE, as part of a Series of interactive session on Mentoring the 1st year CSE students to create interest and orientation towards C Programming and computer science career.   Bring awareness regarding the present situation in computing field. Inculcate interest towards competitive programming and logical thinking in students. Description:   Introduction about college environment and student clubs. Mentioned about the student friendly environment in CSE department and about the experienced faculty. Importance of strong basics in “C Language” and its use in learning and understanding other crucial languages.   Importance of getting recruited in product based companies to CSE graduates rather than service based companies was mentioned. Introduced them to the basics of “C Language”.  Some common doubts related to the C language were discussed and clarified.  At the end of the session, Participants were asked for Feedback. Event Pictures: Explaining the importance of C Language by volunteers to 1-A students.
