A Taste of Dublin’s Coastline Dublin is a culturally ‘cool’ city and county, successfully merging the old with the new. Today’s new wave of creative hubs, bars, foodie hotspots, microbreweries and art spaces spread right along the coastline and outside the city generate a new atmosphere into the old courtyards and alleyways of its ancient past. An opportunity awaits for the food lover to sample what Dublin Bay’s landscape and coastal seascape food and produce has to offer. Monday 14th November Following morning arrivals to Dublin Airport, we make our way to South County Dublin, to the coastal villages of Dalkey, and the seaport of Dun Laoghaire where we sample the best local produce in the area including the local artisan bakery, coffee shops, gastropubs and retail food shops. Overnight in South Dublin area. Tuesday 15th November Heading towards the north of County Dublin we will visit three coastal villages Howth, Malahide and Skerries. Howth is a busy fishing village and ranks as one of the best places in Ireland for seafood lovers. Its rich array of restaurants, markets, and cafes justify the tag serving the freshest seafood straight from the fishing boats. From the upmarket restaurants to the local fish and chip shop, there is something for everyone here. Further up the coastline lies the historical town of Skerries where we indulge afternoon tea in unique surroundings with some local food producers. Our final port of call is Malahide, a bustling village sitting along a marina and a sandy beach nearby. The cute cafes are busy all day and the evenings are very lively with plenty of stylish restaurants. We’ll finish our tour with food from one of Ireland’s best known chefs and listen to an Irish song or two in the local bar. Overnight in Malahide, North County Dublin. Wednesday 16th November Departures.
