§ 03 How it works 03 steps

Three steps, nothing to install

Almost any office or image format. Up to 100 MB.

Step 2

It is rendered as a PDF

The layout of the source document is followed as closely as the format allows.

Step 3

Download the PDF

Your files are deleted once the job is done.

§ 04 When to use it 03 cases

Three situations it was made for

Case 01

Sending a document that must not shift

A text file opened on another machine moves: fonts, margins, page breaks. A PDF does not, which is why quotes and contracts travel as PDF.

Case 02

Turning photos of paper into a document

A photographed page becomes a PDF you can name, file and send like any other document.

Case 03

Reading an ebook on paper

An ePub or a comic archive becomes a PDF that prints, which the original format does not do well.

§ 05 Worth knowing 03 notes

What the tool actually does

Why a PDF holds still

A text document carries instructions: use this font, break the page here. Every machine follows them slightly its own way. A PDF carries the result instead of the instructions, so what you see is what the person at the other end sees. That is the whole reason it became the format for documents that have to be sent.

Fidelity depends on the source

A simple document converts exactly. One built with unusual fonts, complex tables or embedded objects can shift a little, because the conversion has to rebuild what the original software drew. It is worth opening the result before sending it, especially the first time with a given kind of document.

Converting and archiving are two steps

An ordinary PDF is made to be read and sent. A document meant to stay readable for years is another matter: read what the archival format asks of it on the security page.

§ 06 Common questions 08 questions

Before you upload anything

Which formats are accepted?

Text documents, spreadsheets, slide decks, images, ePub, CBR and CBZ.

Is the layout kept?

A simple document converts exactly. Unusual fonts or complex tables can shift slightly, because the conversion rebuilds what the original software drew.

Can I choose A4 or landscape?

Not on this tool. The layout of the source document is what is kept.

Can I convert several files at once?

Not from this tool. Convert them one at a time, then join them with the merge tool if you want one document.

Is the tool free?

Yes. Conversion is free, with no sign-up and nothing to install.

Are my files kept?

No. The file you send and the PDF produced are deleted automatically once the job is done.

Where are my files processed?

On servers in France. Your data stays in the European Union, under the GDPR.

Do I need an account?

No. An account is what lets you keep, find and share your documents afterwards.
