What the number looks like
Where it goes

Your files are processed on servers in France and deleted automatically once the job is done. More on security.

§ 02 The facts 05 entries

  • You chooseThe format of the number and where it sits
  • You get backThe same PDF, with a number on every page
  • What is not doneNo starting offset and no page range: numbering runs from 1 to the end
  • RetentionNone. The file you send and the file produced are erased once the job is done
§ 03 How it works 03 steps

Three steps, nothing to install

Step 1

Upload your PDF

Up to 100 MB.

Step 2

Pick the format and the place

Bottom centre with the total is the safest choice for a printed document.

Step 3

Download the numbered PDF

Your files are deleted once the job is done.

§ 04 When to use it 03 cases

Three situations it was made for

Case 01

A contract that will be signed on paper

Numbers with a total make a missing page obvious, which is exactly why contracts carry them.

Case 02

A file going to a third party

A bundle that will be quoted needs page numbers to be quotable at all.

Case 03

A document assembled from several sources

Merged files rarely carry a continuous numbering. Numbering the result gives it one.

§ 05 Worth knowing 03 notes

What the tool actually does

The number is drawn on the page

It becomes part of the document itself. Print it, send it, convert it: the number stays where it was put.

Numbering starts at 1 and runs to the end

There is no offset for a cover page and no way to number only part of the file. A document with a cover you do not want numbered has to be split, numbered and merged back.

Watch what the corner already holds

Some documents already carry a footer, a case number or a stamp. Look at where yours are before choosing, because the number is drawn over whatever is there. Top right is usually free when the bottom is not.

§ 06 Common questions 08 questions

Before you upload anything

Can I start at another number?

No. Numbering runs from 1 to the last page.

Can I skip the cover page?

Not from this tool. Split the cover off, number the rest, then merge the two back together.

Where should I put the number?

Bottom centre is the usual place and survives binding. Bottom right suits a stack you flick through. Top right when the bottom of the page is taken.

Will it cover something up?

It is drawn over whatever is at that spot, so check your document first and pick a free corner.

Is the tool free?

Yes, with no sign-up and nothing to install.

Are my files kept?

No. The file you send and the file produced are deleted automatically once the job is done.

Where are my files processed?

On servers in France. Your data stays in the European Union, under the GDPR.

Do I need an account?

No. An account is what lets you keep, find and share your documents afterwards.
