Step 1

Upload the protected PDF

Up to 100 MB.

Step 2

Give its password

The one you already type to open the document.

Step 3

Your files are deleted once the job is done.

§ 04 When to use it 03 cases

Three situations it was made for

Case 01

Bank statements that all share one password

A statement arrives locked every month. Removing the lock once means the archive is searchable afterwards.

Case 02

A document you cannot search

A locked PDF resists indexing. Unlocked, it can be found by its content like anything else.

Case 03

Passing a file to a team

A shared password stays known to everyone who ever received it. Unlock the file and put it behind a real account.

§ 05 Worth knowing 03 notes

What the tool actually does

This is not password breaking

The tool needs the password. Without it, the document cannot be opened, here or anywhere else, and no amount of trying changes that. What it removes is the need to type a password you already know, on a file you already have the right to read.

An account is what controls access

A password shared with a team is known by everyone who ever received it, including people who left. If the point is to control who reads a document, an account is the right tool: access can be granted and withdrawn, and it leaves a trace.

There are two kinds of PDF password

One stops the file from opening, the other only asks politely before printing or copying. This tool deals with the first, the one that actually locks the document. The second is a flag some readers choose to honour and others ignore.

§ 06 Common questions 08 questions

Before you upload anything

Do I need the password?

Yes. Without it the document cannot be opened, and this tool does not try to guess it.

Can you recover a forgotten password?

No. Nothing here breaks a PDF open. A forgotten password means asking whoever set it.

Is the document changed?

Only its protection. The pages, the text and the images come back exactly as they were.

Is the password kept?

No. It goes with the job when the job is erased, like the file itself.

Is the tool free?

Yes, with no sign-up and nothing to install.

Are my files kept?

No. The file you send and the unlocked file are deleted automatically once the job is done.

Where are my files processed?

On servers in France. Your data stays in the European Union, under the GDPR.

Do I need an account?

No. An account is what lets you keep, find and share your documents afterwards.
